What motivated you to join BodSchool? I’ve always had an image of what I wanted to look like in my head. I’ve just never had enough motivation to do the work myself. Having a community of people going through the same things fitness-wise was really appealing to me. I’ve never been in fantastic shape but I think now is better than later to work towards that goal.
What are some of your goals for this month with BodSchool? I want to focus on what I’m putting in my body and working hard to get more out of it.
What’s your favorite thing about BodSchool? I like being able to meet with people in person instead of online tutorials. I like the motivation the people around me give and how it makes me push myself. I love having a live person cheering me on through those last few jumping squats or burpees even when my legs are killing me.
What’s your favorite strength training move? I like doing planks. I’m not terribly good at them, but I can feel places in my body that ache with the satisfaction of being worked hard.
What’s your favorite cardio? My favorite cardio has do either be fast feet, Irish jig, or just plain dancing. All of them make me feel silly but there’s enough of a burn. It’s fun work!
What’s your biggest motivation to get healthier/fitter? I just have never been in really good shape. I’m close to the weight I said I’d never get to and I’m scared into making a change. I know I’m not healthy, too. I want to live a healthier lifestyle.
What new physical activity are you interested in trying? I’ve never really done any physical activities, but I think swimming would be fun. I can dog paddle, but not really swim.
Name one long-term fitness goal: I want to be able to run more than a mile without feeling like I’m going to pass out. Also, running a mile without walking would be a major improvement.
What’s your biggest food temptation? Mmm. Anything sweet. Cookies, candy, brownies, muffins, you name it, I’ll probably eat it. I also tend to clean my plate, even after I know I’m full. I take more than a serving in the first place too.
What’s your favorite healthy snack? Fruit definitely makes my world go around. Strawberries, peaches, apples, grapes, cherries. Oh and vegetables. I have carrots every day for dinner because I love them so much.
What are your hobbies? I love listening to music and getting totally engulfed in it. Getting totally sucked into the feel and the rhythm and the bass and the guitar and singing and drums. I like making movies (that’s why it’s my major!) and I find myself thinking in camera angles quite often. I think perhaps making music videos would fit those things perfectly together.Sonny: You have been doing a great job this month! It’s so exciting to watch you push your limits and accomplish things you never dreamed you’d be able to do. This journey can be challenging, but you have what it takes to achieve great things!
